Bilawal questions govt’s steps against terrorism

KARACHI: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has asked the federal government to disclose the steps taken to curb extremism from the country, ARY News reported.

Speaking to media in Karachi on Saturday, PPP chairman said that all parties and provinces should be taken on board regarding the National Action Plan.

“The government should tell what measures they are taking to end terrorism and extremism from Pakistan,” the PPP chairman said.

Bilawal added that he is a victim of terrorism and has lost his mother in a terrorist attack.

He also said that state institutions are arresting his party workers.

Bilawal, commenting on the prevailing political situation in Pakistan, said that he had told “khiladi” that the matter is not a sport, it is an issue of national security.

He added that the federal government is mistreating Karachi.

“I am a citizen of Karachi. The mayor of Karachi is in jail,” he added.

Speaking on Dr. Asim Hussain’s detention, Bilawal said that the former petroleum minister has been made a political prisoner.

“Dr. Asim and his family has a history in Pakistan,” Bilawal said.

Earlier, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited Jinnah Hospital to meet Dr. Asim Hussain. He inquired about the health of the former PPP minister who has been arrested in various cases.

A number of party leaders had also accompanied with the PPP chairman on the occasion.
