Shahbaz Sharif sends legal notice to Imran Khan


ISLAMABAD: Chief Minister of Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has a sent a legal notice to PTI Chairman Imran Khan over his claims regarding Javed Sadiq, ARY News reported on Friday.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had alleged that one Javed Sadiq is the frontman for Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He showed investigative papers that Sadiq was awarded contracts leading to Rs.26 billion in commission.

The documents showed that Javed Sadiq, who is a Canadian national, was awarded contracts and consultancy details worth Rs.480 billion including commissions worth Rs. 26.55 billion through his management firm.

The chief minister, while addressing a press conference, said that Imran Khan had previously leveled allegations worth Rs. 35 billion but was unable to provide any evidence.

Therefore, he would not reply to Imran Khan this time and will instead sue him for defamation worth Rs.26 billion.

The legal notice was sent by Advocate Mustafa Ramday on behalf of CM Punjab.

The notice states that Khan leveled false allegations against Sharif regarding Sadiq, which has questioned his credibility.

It was also stated that that Sharif family and the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) supporters are saddened by the PTI chairman’s claims.

CM Punjab has demanded Khan to take back his allegations and apologize to him otherwise he will file a legal plea in court claiming Rs. 26 billion in damages and a criminal case will also be filed against him.
