LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Chief Siraj-ul-Haq has said that PTI’s Islamabad lockdown call will make no difference in the country, ARY News reported.
He was addressing Lahore High Court (LHC) Bar Association on Tuesday.
The JI chief said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should have taken other parties into confidence before announcing the sit-in protest.
“Staging a sit-in in Islamabad is PTI’s own decision,” Haq said.
Imran Khan led PTI has announced to lock out the federal capital city to press for its demand of probe against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Panama Papers scandal.
He added that monarchs, political pundits and international agents have held the country hostage. “The state cannot progress if such elements are ruling the country,” he said.
He urged the federal government to stop increasing taxes.
The JI leader said that the people of west are better than us as they build roads and run democracy at the same time.
Haq went on to say that the Muslims of the sub-continent did not want a separate homeland for democracy, roads and bridges.
He added that the whole country is sad over the Quetta police training academy attack, which claimed the lives of at least 60 people.
