Imran Khan led Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has given a protest call to lock down federal capital Islamabad on November 2, to press for its demand for probe against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family in Panama Papers scandal.

The PTI has announced that it will lay siege to the city on Nov 2 if by then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif doesn’t agree to an investigation into the Panama Papers leaks, under the terms of reference proposed by the opposition, or resign from his position.

The main opposition PPP has launched a two-pronged attack, accusing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of aggravating the crisis by refusing to investigation into the leaked Panama Papers, othe other side condemning Imran Khan and his party for indulging in an unlawful act by threatening to siege the capital city.

PPP leaders have been stating in categorical terms that they do support PTI demand that the prime minister should present himself for accountability, but the party would never support the PTI’s plan to besiege the federal capital city.
