ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Friday directed to reinstate blocked Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) of all individuals named in Fourth Schedule of the Anti-Terrorism Act, ARY News reported.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan ordered this following a meeting with a delegation of Difa-e-Pakistan Council, led by Maulana Sami ul Haq.
“All provinces will be asked to review the list of fourth schedule as no one can be deprived of citizenship and CNICs, after being a Pakistani national,” he said while talking to the delegation in Islamabad.
The minister said that if anyone has been deprived of CNICs despite his Pakistani nationality, it should be rectified and such decisions should not be made in future.
He said religious forces played an important role in improvement of security situation in the country.
