KARACHI: Well, the reports are not so good. A newest report conducted by the World Economic Forum (WEF) on the Global Travel and Tourism Report has revealed that Pakistan is the fourth most dangerous country in the world.
At the bottom of the survey besides Pakistan are Nigeria, Colombia, Yemen, and Venezuela at the first, second, third and fifth spots respectively as the most unsafe countries.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is the third safest place in the world, with Qatar and Finland, ranked second and first respectively.
The report, ranking countries on ‘Safety and Security,’ set a score of 3.04 only for Pakistan, while Finland got a score of 6.7 for being the safest country.
Further down the list is the United Kingdom (UK) at 63 and the United States (US) at 73 ranks, below Albania, Bahrain and Kazakhstan.
So, how these countries are ranked?
WEF said safety and security was a critical factor determining the competitiveness of a country’s Travel and Tourism industry. So, it took into account the costliness of common crime and violence as well as terrorism, and the extent to which police services can be relied upon to provide protection from crime.
